Carrington West are working with a highly regarded private planning consultancy that is looking to strengthen its team with a Specialist Retail Town Planner. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking consultancy and work on a diverse range of high-profile retail projects across London and the wider UK.
The Role
You will play a key role in advising clients on retail-led planning projects, working across the full planning lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the consultancy's retail planning offering.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Managing and delivering retail planning projects from inception through to determination.
·Preparing and coordinating planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
·Providing strategic planning advice to retail clients and stakeholders.
·Undertaking planning research and assessing development proposals against relevant planning policy.
·Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants and other project stakeholders.
·Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the retail team.
·Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
About You
We are keen to hear from Town Planners who have a genuine specialism in retail planning and experience working within a consultancy environment.
You will ideally have:
·Relevant experience within town planning, with a focus on retail projects.
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant retail planning policy.
·Experience managing planning applications and providing client-facing advice.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
·The ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
·A commercially minded approach and a desire to develop your career within a specialist planning consultancy.
Chartered status or progress towards RTPI accreditation would be advantageous, although applications from strong candidates at different career stages will be considered.
