Senior Planning Enforcement Officer
6-Month Contract | Hybrid Working | £45–£50 per Hour
Are you an experienced Planning Enforcement professional looking for your next contract opportunity?
We are seeking a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join a well-established Local Authority on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied caseload while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
Rate: £45–£50 per hour
Estimated Take-Home Pay: Approximately £4,400–£4,900 per month after tax (depending on individual circumstances and working arrangement).
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate alleged breaches of Planning Control.
- Manage a varied caseload of planning enforcement investigations.
- Prepare and issue enforcement notices and related legal documentation.
- Handle and defend Enforcement Appeals.
- Monitor compliance with Planning Conditions.
- Liaise with applicants, residents, elected members, legal teams, and other stakeholders.
- Provide professional planning enforcement advice in accordance with current planning legislation and policy.
About You
- Extensive experience working within Planning Enforcement for a Local Authority.
- Strong working knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement procedures.
- Experience managing Enforcement Appeals from investigation through to determination.
- Confident in monitoring and securing compliance with Planning Conditions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
- Able to manage a busy caseload and work independently.
