Planning Officer – Minor Applications
West Midlands | 3-Month Rolling Contract | £35–£45 per Hour
We're currently recruiting for an experienced Planning Officer to join a busy Local Planning Authority in the West Midlands on an initial 3-month rolling contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional looking for a stable contract with a varied caseload focused on minor planning applications.
The Role
- Manage a caseload of minor planning applications from validation through to determination.
- Prepare reports and recommendations in line with planning policy and legislation.
- Liaise with applicants, consultees, councillors and members of the public.
- Attend site visits and committee meetings where required.
- Ensure applications are determined within statutory timescales.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a UK Local Planning Authority.
- Experience determining minor planning applications.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- MRTPI qualification is desirable but not essential.
Contract Details
- West Midlands
- Initial 3-month contract with strong likelihood of extension
- £35–£45 per hour, depending on experience
- Approximate take-home pay of £2,500–£3,200 per month (depending on hours worked and individual tax circumstances)
