We're working with a well-established and respected planning consultancy in Edinburgh that is looking to appoint a Graduate Town Planner to join its expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Chartered Planners on a broad range of residential, commercial, rural and mixed-use projects across Scotland, gaining hands-on experience from day one.
The Role
As a Graduate Town Planner, you'll support senior planners throughout the planning process, including:
- Preparing planning applications and supporting documentation.
- Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals.
- Liaising with local authorities, clients and consultants.
- Assisting with planning appeals and representations.
- Supporting project delivery across a varied portfolio of developments.
You'll receive ongoing mentoring and professional development, with full support towards achieving MRTPI status.
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
- A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related RTPI-accredited discipline.
- Around 6 months to 2 years' planning experience (public or private sector), although exceptional graduates will also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for planning.
- A full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
Candidates based in or around Edinburgh will be particularly well suited, given the collaborative nature of the role and regular office-based mentoring.
