Planning Officer
£27,385 - £33,901 per annum pro rata (pay award pending)
Part-time (30 hours per week)
New Forest, Hampshire
We are looking for a dedicated and highly motivated professional to join our National Park planning team. Working in an exceptionally beautiful and scenic part of the country – one of only 10 National Parks in England - you can expect to deal with a wide range of planning applications, appeals and related enquiries.
You will already have experience of working in a planning team with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The role would suit someone looking to broaden their planning career or, alternatively, you may have more recently graduated and be looking to gain experience in a new area.
Based in Lymington, we support flexible working and a blended mix of office and home working. We also offer a range of other benefits, including a generous contributory Local Government pension, paid Membership fees to the RTPI and plenty of training and development opportunities.
The New Forest National Park Authority is not directly affected by the Local Government Re-organisation currently taking place in Hampshire. Through this role as part of our wider planning team, you will make an important contribution to the delivery of the National Park purposes.
The salary range is £27,385 - £33,901 per annum (pay award pending), based on a full-time equivalent. This is a part-time role, and the salary will be pro-rata to hours worked. Appointment and starting salary will be within Band 4 or 5 and will be determined by qualifications and experience. The role requires a valid driving licence.
For further information, please go to our website Jobs - New Forest National Park and submit your CV and covering email by 2pm on Monday 3 August 2026
