I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established planning consultancy in Newcastle that is looking to appoint a talented Town Planner to join its growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic planner to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, mixed-use, and strategic development projects while developing their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering planning advice and managing projects from inception through to completion. Working alongside experienced planners, you'll gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of developments while building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Working pattern: Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the Newcastle office and 2 days working from home, offering flexibility alongside team collaboration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and submitting planning applications.
- Producing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
- Conducting planning research and policy reviews.
- Liaising with local authorities, clients and external consultants.
- Attending client meetings, site visits and public consultations.
- Supporting senior colleagues on larger planning projects.
- Keeping up to date with planning legislation and policy changes.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership.
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority.
- A solid understanding of the UK planning system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
