£40–£45 per hour | 6-Month Rolling Contract | Weekly Office Presence

Are you an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer looking for your next contract opportunity? We're working with a well-regarded Local Authority in the East Midlands that is seeking an experienced professional to join its friendly and highly supportive Planning team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative environment where you'll be trusted to manage your own caseload while benefiting from the backing of an experienced and approachable team. Whether you need guidance on complex cases or simply value working alongside knowledgeable colleagues, you'll find a positive culture that encourages collaboration and professional support.

What's on offer?

  • £40–£45 per hour
  • Approximately £4,000–£4,500 take-home per month (after tax and deductions, depending on your circumstances)
  • 6-month rolling contract with strong potential for extension
  • Weekly office presence, offering a great balance between remote working and face-to-face collaboration
  • Join a welcoming team with experienced managers who are committed to supporting contractors and ensuring you have everything you need to succeed

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing a varied planning enforcement caseload, investigating alleged breaches of planning control, conducting site visits, negotiating resolutions where appropriate, and preparing formal enforcement action when required. You'll work closely with colleagues across the planning service in a team that values communication, knowledge sharing, and practical problem-solving.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience working as a Planning Enforcement Officer within a UK Local Authority
  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation and enforcement procedures
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload independently
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

If you're looking for a contract where you'll be genuinely valued, supported by an experienced team, and offered excellent rates with long-term stability, we'd love to hear from you.
