Senior Town Planner / Associate Town Planner

Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Salary: Senior: £37,000–£46,000 | Associate: £46,000–£58,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (Part-time considered for the right candidate)

The Opportunity

An award-winning planning consultancy is looking to recruit either a Senior Town Planner or Associate Town Planner to join its growing Manchester team.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative consultancy delivering some of the UK's most significant residential-led regeneration, new settlement and strategic development projects. You'll work closely with experienced planning professionals, take ownership of projects and play an important role in the continued growth of the business.

The Role

You'll be involved in a wide range of planning work, taking responsibility for your own projects while supporting larger multidisciplinary schemes. The role offers plenty of client interaction and the opportunity to contribute to business development as your career progresses.

Requirements

  • MRTPI Chartered
  • Approximately 2-5 years' post-qualification experience in town planning
  • Experience within either the public or private sector
  • Strong residential and/or regeneration planning experience
  • Excellent written, analytical and communication skills
  • Experience managing planning applications and client relationships
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
  • Commercial awareness with a proactive, solution-focused approach

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Residential development
  • Strategic land
  • New settlements, garden villages or new towns
  • Urban regeneration
  • Masterplanning and placemaking
  • Affordable housing
  • Public sector advisory
  • Commercial development

Location

This hybrid position is based in Manchester, with applicants ideally living within around one hour of the city or willing to relocate.
