Planner / Senior Planner ā Brighton (Hybrid)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a growing and ambitious private planning consultancy based in Brighton.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a close-knit team where you'll work directly alongside experienced Directors, take ownership of your own projects and play a key role in delivering commercially focused planning advice across a diverse portfolio of developments throughout the South East.
The Role
Depending on your experience, you will:
- Manage planning projects from inception through to determination.
- Prepare high-quality Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements, Appeal Statements and supporting reports.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing clear and practical planning advice.
- Coordinate planning application submissions.
- Attend planning committee meetings and stakeholder consultations.
- Advise clients on Local Development Plans and planning strategy.
- Progress projects independently following an initial onboarding period.
- At Senior level, mentor junior colleagues and represent clients at appeals and public inquiries.
About You
We're looking for candidates who have:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Experience working within the UK planning system, either in consultancy or the public sector.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach.
- RTPI Licentiate membership (Planner level) or Chartered status (Senior level) is desirable.
For Senior applicants, experience managing client relationships, mentoring colleagues and contributing to business development would be advantageous.
