Are you a recent graduate looking to take the first step in your planning career?
We are working with a number of established planning consultancies across the UK that are seeking ambitious Graduate Planners to join their growing teams. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a diverse range of projects while receiving structured support and mentoring from experienced planning professionals.
You'll work on a variety of residential, commercial, mixed-use, strategic land, and infrastructure projects, developing your knowledge of the UK planning system and building the foundations for a successful career in planning consultancy.
The Role
As a Graduate Planner, you will support senior colleagues across all stages of the planning process, helping to deliver high-quality planning advice and successful outcomes for clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications.
- Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals.
- Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation.
- Liaising with local authorities, clients, and external consultants.
- Supporting planning appeals and development promotion projects.
- Attending site visits, client meetings, and stakeholder consultations.
- Monitoring planning policy and legislative updates.
Requirements
To be considered for these opportunities, you must have:
- An MSc in Town Planning (RTPI Accredited).
- A strong interest in pursuing a career within planning consultancy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
- A proactive and professional approach to work.
- The right to work in the UK.
Previous planning experience through internships, placements, local authority work, or consultancy experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
