Are you an experienced Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career with a growing multidisciplinary consultancy?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Town Planner to join an established and expanding planning team delivering projects across the UK. Working with a diverse portfolio of clients, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice, managing projects from inception through to completion, and helping to drive business growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planner who enjoys working on a varied range of projects within a collaborative, supportive environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Managing a wide range of planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries.
- Preparing planning statements, sequential assessments and other supporting planning documentation.
- Progressing planning applications through the planning system.
- Liaising with Local Planning Authorities before, during and after the application process.
- Providing clients with regular updates on project progress.
- Undertaking site appraisals, planning policy reviews and development potential assessments.
- Developing planning strategies for short, medium and long-term development opportunities.
- Preparing representations to Local Plans and other planning policy documents.
- Coordinating evidence to support site allocations through the plan-making process.
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful outcomes.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- MRTPI status (or equivalent chartered planning qualification) or significant planning experience.
- A minimum of five years' post-qualification planning experience.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple projects, budgets and deadlines.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in business development.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Experience in rural planning would be advantageous but is not essential.
