Planning Consultant - Shrewsbury
We are currently working with a well-established planning and property consultancy to recruit a Planning Consultant for their office near Shrewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and experienced planning team, working on a diverse portfolio of rural and urban projects across a range of sectors.
The Role
As a Planning Consultant, you will work alongside an experienced team, preparing and managing planning applications while providing professional planning advice to a varied client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals.
- Research planning legislation, policy and guidance.
- Collect, analyse and maintain data relating to planning applications.
- Prepare planning reports for internal and external use.
- Attend meetings and record minutes where required.
- Negotiate amendments to proposed developments.
- Prepare, revise and interpret maps and technical drawings.
- Review plans and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with statutory and technical requirements.
- Respond to queries throughout the planning application and appeals process.
- Manage planning applications and liaise with planning officers, architects and external consultants.
- Assist with client invoicing and aged debt collection where required.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant planning experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong telephone and IT skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently in a fast-paced office environment.
- A proactive approach with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
