A highly regarded Local Authority in Essex is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 3-month rolling contract, with work secured for approximately 12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner considering their first interim assignment, offering flexibility, long-term stability, and a manageable office attendance requirement of just one day per week.

What's on Offer?

• £45 per hour
• Approx. £4,600 take-home per month (subject to individual circumstances)
• Initial 3-month rolling contract
• Expected contract duration of 12 months
• 1 day per week in the office

• Flexible start date – the council is happy to wait 4–6 weeks for the right candidate

You will manage a varied Development Management caseload, including:

• Minor planning applications
• Major planning applications
• Pre-application enquiries
