Are you a Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career with a respected and growing planning consultancy? I’m currently working with a well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy that is seeking a Town Planner to join its expanding planning team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional with consultancy or local authority experience who is looking to work on a varied portfolio of residential, commercial, energy, and strategic land projects across the UK.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you’ll play a key role in delivering planning advice and managing applications from inception through to determination. You’ll work closely with senior planners, developers, landowners, and multidisciplinary teams to help secure successful planning outcomes for clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and supporting planning statements.

  • Providing planning advice to clients on a wide range of development proposals.

  • Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and consultees throughout the planning process.

  • Undertaking site appraisals, policy reviews, and planning research.

  • Supporting senior colleagues on larger strategic and complex projects.

  • Attending client meetings, public consultations, and planning committee meetings where required.

About You

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and commercially aware planner who enjoys working in a collaborative consultancy environment.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A degree (and ideally a postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline.

  • RTPI membership or working towards chartership.

  • Previous experience in a planning consultancy or local authority planning role.

  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • A proactive, client-focused approach and a genuine passion for planning.

What’s on Offer?
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience.

  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

  • Clear career progression and support towards RTPI chartership.

  • Exposure to a diverse and high-quality project portfolio.

  • Friendly, supportive, and collaborative team culture.

  • Comprehensive benefits package including pension, holiday allowance, and professional development support.

Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking consultancy with a strong reputation in the planning and development sector. You’ll be given the autonomy to develop your own projects while benefiting from the support and expertise of an experienced multidisciplinary team.

If you’re a motivated Town Planner looking for a new challenge, I’d love to hear from you. Apply today or get in touch for a confidential discussion about the role and your career aspirations.
