Are you an experienced Town Planner looking to take the next step in your career with a highly respected multidisciplinary consultancy? Our client is seeking a talented Senior Town Planner to join their growing planning team in Leeds, working on some of the UK's most exciting and complex development projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an established and collaborative team that delivers planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning residential, commercial, infrastructure, energy, regeneration, and mixed-use developments.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning projects from inception through to determination, providing strategic planning advice and building strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied portfolio of planning projects across multiple sectors.
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
  • Providing strategic planning advice to clients throughout the development process.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams to achieve successful planning outcomes.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior planners within the team.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A degree and postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards chartership.
  • Proven experience within either the private or public sector planning environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and project management skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
