The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning projects from inception through to determination, providing strategic planning advice and building strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied portfolio of planning projects across multiple sectors.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients throughout the development process.
- Leading stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams to achieve successful planning outcomes.
- Supporting and mentoring junior planners within the team.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives.
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
- A degree and postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards chartership.
- Proven experience within either the private or public sector planning environment.
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
