A Local Authority in Cambridgeshire is looking to appoint an experienced Development Management Team Leader to support their Development Management function on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a role with highly flexible working arrangements, with the council offering flexible office presence requirements.
You’ll be working closely with the Development Management Manager to help oversee the Development Management team, whilst also taking a lead on a range of major planning applications and strategic casework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting the Development Management Manager with oversight of the DM team
• Managing and supporting officers across a varied caseload
• Leading on major planning applications and complex developments
• Providing guidance and technical advice on planning matters
• Assisting with performance management and service delivery
• Engaging with internal stakeholders, applicants, and consultants
• Planning application sign-off experience would be beneficial, although not essential
Requirements:
• Previous Local Authority Development Management experience
• Experience managing or mentoring planning officers within a DM team
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system and development management processes
• Experience handling major and complex planning applications
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
