We are working with a well-established independent planning consultancy in Dorset that is looking to appoint a Town Planner to support a growing pipeline of residential, commercial and rural planning projects across the South West.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a close-knit and highly respected team offering genuine career progression, exposure to a broad range of projects, and a flexible working environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced planning professionals, landowners, developers and private clients on a varied caseload that includes:

  • Residential developments
  • Rural and agricultural projects
  • Commercial schemes
  • Change of use applications
  • Appeals and site appraisals
  • Local plan representations and strategic planning work

The Role

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications
  • Managing projects from initial appraisal through to determination
  • Liaising with local authorities, consultants and stakeholders
  • Producing planning statements and supporting documentation
  • Attending client meetings and site visits
  • Supporting senior team members on larger strategic projects

About You

  • Degree qualified in Town Planning or related discipline
  • MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
  • Previous experience within either consultancy or local authority planning
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
