Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a respected planning consultancy in their search for an Associate Planner to join their team in Derby.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Planner to take a key role within a growing consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will play an important part in project delivery, client management, and the continued growth of the business.
THE ROLE
As an Associate Planner, you will lead on a range of planning projects from initial strategy through to submission and determination.
You will manage client relationships, provide strategic advice, and support the wider team, establishing yourself as a key figure within the business as an Associate Planner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leading and managing planning applications and projects
• Providing strategic planning advice to clients
• Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact
• Preparing and reviewing high-quality planning reports and documentation
• Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Contributing to business development and identifying new opportunities
• Supporting the growth and success of the wider team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
• MRTPI qualified
• Strong experience within a planning consultancy or similar environment
• Proven ability to manage projects and client relationships
• Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach
