I’m currently working with a well-established and highly respected planning consultancy in Edinburgh that is looking to appoint a talented Town Planner to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their planning career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

You’ll be involved in a wide variety of projects across sectors including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. The role offers exposure to the full planning process—from early-stage appraisals through to applications, appeals, and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
• Undertaking site appraisals and planning research
• Liaising with local authorities, clients, and stakeholders
• Supporting senior colleagues on complex projects
• Contributing to business development and client relationships

About You

• Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
• Working towards or already MRTPI qualified
• Previous experience in either consultancy or local authority
• Strong report writing and communication skills
• Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset
