Minerals & Waste Planning Officer (Development Management)
Flexible – Full Time or Part Time
Hybrid Working – Office/Site Attendance Required (c. once every 2 weeks)
We are working with a forward-thinking Local Authority seeking an experienced Minerals & Waste Planner to support their Development Management function.
This is a flexible opportunity, open to both full-time and part-time applicants, offering a balanced hybrid working arrangement with office presence and site visits required approximately once every two weeks.
The Role
You will play a key role in managing a varied caseload of minerals and waste planning applications, including complex and high-profile developments. Responsibilities will include:
- Determining minerals and waste planning applications through the Development Management process
- Providing pre-application advice to developers and stakeholders
- Undertaking site visits and attending planning committees as required
- Managing enforcement and compliance matters where necessary
- Preparing reports and presenting recommendations to elected members
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external consultees
