We are working with a well-established independent planning consultancy based in Leeds, seeking to appoint a Senior Town Planner as part of its continued growth. The consultancy advises a wide range of private and public sector clients and has built a strong reputation for delivering pragmatic, high-quality planning advice.

The Role
You will be involved in all aspects of the planning process, supporting projects from initial site appraisal through to securing planning permission and delivery. Depending on your level of experience, you will take ownership of applications, liaise directly with clients, and contribute to mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities

Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications and appeals

Undertaking site appraisals and providing clear, commercially focused planning advice

Drafting planning statements, appeal statements, and supporting documentation

Engaging with local planning authorities, consultees, and key stakeholders

Monitoring national and local planning policy and advising on implications

Attending client meetings, site visits, and planning committees as required

Supporting senior colleagues on complex or strategic projects

Managing projects independently and mentoring junior staff (Senior level)
About You
Senior Town Planner

MRTPI qualified (or working towards)

Typically 4+ years’ relevant planning experience

Proven ability to manage planning applications and client relationships

Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability

Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
