The Opportunity
An established private sector planning consultancy in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Town Planner to join its growing team. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, commercially focused environment with exposure to a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

The Role
As a Town Planner, you will support and manage projects from early-stage site appraisal through to planning applications and appeals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing planning statements, reports, and supporting documentation
- Undertaking site appraisals and feasibility assessments
- Advising clients on planning strategy and development potential
- Managing and submitting planning applications
- Liaising with local authorities, clients, and external consultants
- Monitoring application progress and negotiating with stakeholders
- Supporting and preparing planning appeals where required
About You
- 2–4 years’ experience in Town Planning
- Background in either private consultancy or a Local Planning Authority
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and policy framework
- MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
