Overview

An excellent opportunity is available for a Senior Planner to join a well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy. The team has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality planning services and successfully guiding development projects from inception through to delivery.

This role is ideal for a planner looking for a new challenge or the next step in their career, with the opportunity to make a real impact across a diverse range of projects.

The Role

You will work on a wide variety of projects, supporting clients including housebuilders, land promoters, and developers at national, regional, and local levels. The role involves managing projects through the planning process, providing clear and strategic advice, and building strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing high-quality planning advice, reports, and strategies
  • Undertaking research, due diligence, and site appraisals
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
  • Liaising and negotiating with planning officers and stakeholders
  • Participating in community engagement events
  • Managing projects from inception through to determination
  • Building and maintaining strong client and professional relationships
  • Applying technical knowledge to deliver effective planning solutions
  • Managing time effectively and working both independently and as part of a team

About You

  • Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) or working towards chartership
  • Experience within the public and/or private sector
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide clear, confident, and commercially aware advice
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills
  • Proactive, solution-focused mindset
  • Good IT skills (including Microsoft Office and web-based systems)
  • Willingness to continue professional development (CPD support provided)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
