Vivid Resourcing are currently working with Rochford Council who are looking to appoint an interim Senior Strategic Planner to support the preparation of their emerging Local Plan and wider planning policy work programme.
The role will focus on progressing key policy workstreams, supporting the development of the evidence base, managing consultant inputs, and assisting with key stages of the Local Plan process, including preparation for examination. You will also be involved in responding to consultation representations, engaging with stakeholders, and providing strategic planning advice across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have prior experience working on Local Plans within a local authority or consultancy setting, a strong understanding of the planning policy framework and plan-making process, and confidence leading or supporting complex policy projects. Experience liaising with internal teams, consultants, Members, and external stakeholders will be essential.
Applicants should be able to work independently in a predominantly remote environment, while attending key meetings as required, and add value to a busy policy team at a critical stage of plan preparation.
