A well-established planning consultancy is looking to strengthen its team in Exeter with the appointment of a Town Planner at Senior, Principal or Associate level. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy working on a wide variety of development projects across the region.

The role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering planning advice across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, while working within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

The Opportunity

You will be involved in managing and delivering planning projects from early feasibility through to determination, working closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.

Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:

• Preparing and managing planning applications and supporting reports

• Providing strategic planning advice to clients

• Managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams

• Supporting or leading planning appeals and site promotion work

• Developing client relationships and contributing to business development

• Mentoring junior members of the planning team

About You

The consultancy is open to candidates across Senior, Principal or Associate level, with responsibilities and scope tailored to experience.

You will likely have:

• Experience working within a planning consultancy, developer or private sector planning environment

• A strong understanding of the UK planning system

• Experience working on residential and/or commercial development projects

• Excellent report writing and communication skills

• Membership of, or working towards membership of, the Royal Town Planning Institute
