Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading integrated placemaking consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their growing Planning Team based in Cardiff.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Planner to work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, supporting a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients including education providers, healthcare organisations, developers, and housebuilders.
The Role
You will be working across a wide range of projects throughout the planning process, including:
You will collaborate closely with in-house urban design and landscape teams, helping to deliver planning solutions that are not only policy compliant but also contribute to the creation of sustainable and well-designed places.
Key Responsibilities

Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals

Supporting site appraisals and feasibility studies
-
Undertaking planning policy research and analysis

Preparing planning statements and supporting reports
-
Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and external consultants

Attending site visits and client meetings
-
Supporting project delivery across a range of sectors
Candidate Requirements
-
Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
-
Good understanding of the UK planning system
-
Experience managing planning applications
-
Strong report writing and analytical skills
-
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership (desirable)

Proactive approach within a client-focused consultancy environment
