Senior / Principal Town Planner
Location: Cardiff (Hybrid)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
A leading multidisciplinary planning and design consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior / Principal Town Planner to join its expanding team. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice and project coordination across a range of strategic and development management projects for both private and public sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the delivery of planning projects from inception to completion, including strategic planning and development management.
- Provide expert planning advice to clients and stakeholders at all stages of the planning process.
- Prepare and review planning submissions, reports and supporting documentation.
- Communicate effectively with local authorities, clients, and external partners throughout the consenting process.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues where appropriate.
- Contribute to business development and help identify new opportunities.
About You
- Chartered RTPI membership (MRTPI) or equivalent professional accreditation.
- Strong technical understanding of UK planning policy, legislation, and consenting.
- Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercially aware, proactive and confident managing complex schemes.
- Experience working within consultancy, local authority or developer environments.
