Senior Town Planner
Location: Glasgow
Penguin Recruitment is working on behalf of a well established, multidisciplinary planning and design consultancy to recruit a Senior Town Planner for their Glasgow office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Town Planner with over 3 years’ experience at Planner level to join a respected consultancy working across a diverse range of development projects. The role offers strong exposure to collaborative, design led schemes and the chance to play a key role within a growing planning team.
The Role
As Senior Town Planner, you will take responsibility for managing planning projects from inception through to determination, providing clear, commercially focused advice to clients and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing planning applications, appeals, and pre-application submissions

Preparing high-quality planning statements and supporting reports

Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and key stakeholders

Advising clients on planning strategy and policy matters

Supporting and mentoring junior members of the planning team

Working closely with colleagues across architecture, urban design, and related disciplines
About You
The successful Senior Town Planner will have:

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
-
Chartered status (MRTPI)
-
A minimum of 3 years’ experience at Planner level within the UK planning system

Strong knowledge of planning policy and development management
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
The ability to manage multiple projects independently
