Senior / Principal Planning Consultant

Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a leading, multi disciplinary consultancy in their search for a Senior / Principal Planning Consultant to join their established planning team in London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planning professional to take on a senior role, working on a wide range of high profile projects across sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure, regeneration, and mixed-use development. The position offers a strong platform for career progression, leadership responsibility, and involvement in shaping strategic planning outcomes.
The Role
As a Senior / Principal Planning Consultant, you will play a key role in managing complex planning projects, providing expert advice to clients, and supporting the continued growth of the planning team.
Key responsibilities include:

Managing planning applications, appeals, and pre-application strategies

Providing strategic planning advice to a diverse client base

Leading projects from inception through to determination

Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders, and project teams

Mentoring junior planners and contributing to team development

Supporting business development and client relationship management
About You
You will ideally have:

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
-
MRTPI status (or working towards for Senior level)
-
Significant experience in UK planning, ideally within consultancy

Strong report writing, communication, and project management skills

A proactive and commercially aware approach
