We are working with a Local Authority in the Surrey area, who are seeking an experienced Development Management Manager on a 6-month interim assignment. This is a fantastic opportunity for a planner with strong leadership and operational experience to support the integration of the Technical Support Team back into Planning, as well as to contribute to service improvement across the department.

The Role:
As the DM Manager, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the Development Management teams, including enforcement and strategic sites.

  • Support the integration and redesign of the Technical Support Team, including training and process improvements.

  • Assist with the restructure of the team alongside technical support colleagues.

  • Work closely with the AD Planning to develop and deliver a Planning Improvement Plan.

  • Ensure operational delivery of planning applications continues to meet service standards during the assignment.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 6 months initially

  • Working pattern: Hybrid – 1 day per week in the office

  • Hours: Full-time

  • Rate: up to £70 an hour
  • Vehicle: Access to own vehicle required
