The Role

An established town planning consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice and successful development outcomes is seeking a Senior Planner to join its team. You’ll work on a broad range of projects — from new homes and business space to renewable energy and countryside sites — helping clients navigate the full planning process from inception through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client and professional relationships, understanding client needs and motivations.
  • Provide clear, high-quality planning advice and strategy across varied project types and geographies.
  • Prepare written reports and professional planning submissions, including applications and appeals.
  • Conduct due diligence, research, and analysis to inform planning strategy.
  • Liaise and negotiate with planning officers throughout the decision-making process.
  • Lead community engagement events and contribute to forums where required.
  • Work independently on project delivery while collaborating within a supportive team environment.

About You

  • Chartered Town Planner or working towards RTPI membership.
  • Planning experience gained in consultancy, local authority, developer/promoter or similar professional setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong IT literacy (e.g., MS Office).
  • Confident, proactive and client-focused, with the ability to manage your own workload and take initiative.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with potential bonus component.
  • Workplace pension and flexible working arrangements.
  • Opportunities for continuous professional development and CPD support.
  • Gym membership and social events for staff and families.
  • Exposure to a wide range of projects and clients across the south coast and beyond.
