Planner / Senior Planner / Planning Manager

Location: Hampshire (office working, Mon-Fri)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

A growing residential developer is seeking an experienced Planner, Senior Planner or Planning Manager to join its busy planning team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for driving the planning process from site inception through to receipt of planning permissions and beyond across a range of housing sites (typically 30–200 units). You’ll report into senior leadership and work collaboratively with planning, land and regeneration colleagues to help deliver high-quality developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare planning applications, conditions and appeal documentation for submission to Local Planning Authorities.
  • Manage the submission process and maintain planning records.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including council officers and communities.
  • Represent the business at Planning Committee meetings and public consultations.
  • Monitor and review local planning policy and emerging Local Plan Reviews.
  • Conduct planning research and coordinate with external consultants as required.
  • Support internal teams with planning input for development and land promotion activities.

About You

  • Degree in urban planning, geography or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate planning experience in a consultancy, local authority or housebuilding environment.
  • Knowledge of planning processes, regulations and the UK planning system.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Confident engaging with the public, stakeholders and planning authorities.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
