As a specialist recruitment consultant working closely with a well-established planning consultancy, I’m currently supporting the search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team in Milton Keynes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner who is looking to take on greater responsibility, work on a diverse portfolio of projects, and progress their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice across a broad range of developments, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes. The position offers a strong balance of technical work, client interaction, and mentoring of junior team members.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and delivering planning applications from inception through to determination
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients and stakeholders
- Preparing planning statements, appeals, and supporting documentation
- Leading client meetings and liaising with local authorities
- Supporting and mentoring junior planners within the team
About You
I’m keen to speak with planners who have:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI (or working towards chartered status with significant experience)
- Strong experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to manage projects and build client relationships
