This is an exciting time to join the Forward Planning Team as work begins on the development of the next Local Plan under the emerging new planning system.
This post will play an important part in the development of the Local Plan. Duties include covering many aspects of the plan and evidence-based preparation, including a key role in the development of the Strategic Flood Risk Assessment and strategic environmental assessments.
To be successful in this role, you will be a team player, self-motivated, organised and a good communicator.
You will have worked in a policy environment and be ready for the challenge that the emerging Local Plan making system offers, as well as the challenge of balancing new housing growth and employment land alongside the protection of the important environments and habitats in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The area is a diverse place to consider in terms of planning policy.
Working at this large Unitary Authority will give you an excellent insight into a wide range of planning considerations across urban and rural settlements within highly attractive coastal and rural landscapes. You will have an opportunity to work in a team with a strong track record of delivering sound plans.
This role is suitable for a blended working approach and will allow you to split your time working from home and County Hall, Beverley.
