Interim Team Leader/Principal Planning Policy

Rate: £55–£60 per hour
Contract: Initial 3–6 months (potential extension)
Location: Lancashire
Start: ASAP

My client in Lancashire is seeking an experienced Team Leader/Principal Planning Policy Consultant to support the Council’s Planning Policy team on an interim basis. The role will offer someone a key role in taking the Local Plan through to adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the Local Plan through to adoption

  • Leading the consultation on Main Modifications following the Inspector’s interim letter

  • Managing the consultation process, including collation and submission of representations

  • Liaising with the Programme Officer and responding to further requests from the Inspector

  • Supporting the examination process through to receipt of the final Inspector’s report

 

About You

  • RTPI-qualified planner

  • Experience at Principal Planner, Team Leaderlevel

  • Strong background in Local Plan preparation and examination

  • Excellent understanding of current planning legislation and national planning policy

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced local authority environment

 

Contract Details

  • £55–£60 per hour 

  • Initial 3–6 month contract (posiibility for extension)

  • Hybrid – office attendance preferred 1 day per week (flexibility available)
