Associate Planner – Birmingham
£40k-£55k+
We’re working on behalf of a well-established and growing planning consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Planner to join their Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner who is ready to step into a senior, client-facing role with clear progression to Director level.
The Opportunity
You’ll be joining a respected consultancy with a strong regional and national presence, advising on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. The Birmingham office continues to grow, and this role plays a key part in strengthening leadership and mentoring capability within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage planning applications from inception through to determination
- Provide strategic planning advice to clients, developers and landowners
- Prepare and oversee high-quality planning statements, appeals and supporting documents
- Manage client relationships and contribute to business development activities
- Support, mentor and develop junior planners within the team
- Represent clients at meetings with local authorities, stakeholders and consultants
About You
- MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartered status with significant experience)
- Strong experience within UK town planning, ideally from a consultancy background
- Proven ability to manage projects and client relationships independently
- Confident communicator with a commercial and solutions-focused mindset
- Ambitious, proactive and keen to take on increased responsibility
