Senior Town Planner
Location: Dublin (Office-based – 4 days per week)

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established and highly regarded planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their Dublin team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a high profile role, seconded directly to Dublin Airport, supporting one of Ireland’s most strategically important pieces of national infrastructure.

This Senior Town Planner position offers the chance to be embedded within a fast-paced, complex planning environment, working closely with key stakeholders on major aviation, infrastructure, and development projects. Due to the nature of the role and client requirements, this position is office based in Dublin, with attendance required a minimum of four days per week. Hybrid or fully remote working is not an option for this role.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a central role in providing day to day planning support to Dublin Airport. Your responsibilities will include managing planning applications, advising on planning strategy, engaging with statutory bodies, and supporting the delivery of large-scale infrastructure and operational projects within a live airport environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and coordinating planning applications and consents

• Providing strategic planning advice on aviation and infrastructure projects

• Liaising with local authorities, statutory consultees, and key stakeholders

• Supporting compliance with planning conditions and regulatory frameworks

• Contributing to long-term development strategies and masterplanning

• Working closely with internal teams and external consultants

About You

This role will suit a Senior Town Planner who is confident operating in a complex, high-profile setting and enjoys working closely with a single major client.

You will ideally have:

• 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in town planning

• An accredited planning degree and RTPI or IPI membership (or working towards)

• Strong knowledge of the Irish planning system

• Experience managing planning applications and providing planning advice

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• The ability to work autonomously in a client-facing, office based role

• Must be based in Dublin and able to attend the office four days per week
