Shape Wales’ future with Natural Resources Wales (NRW)
We’re looking for a Lead Planning Specialist to join our Planning, Landscape and Energy Team. This is your chance to influence how environmental priorities are embedded in development decisions across Wales, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) and Significant Infrastructure Projects (SIPs).

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and manage complex planning projects and policy development.
  • Provide expert advice to Welsh Government, developers, and planning authorities.
  • Develop practical guidance for NRW teams and external partners.
  • Build strategic relationships to drive sustainable outcomes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of Welsh, UK and EU land use and spatial planning legislation.
  • Experience in development plans, environmental assessment (SEA, HRA, EIA).
  • Skilled in project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Membership of RTPI or relevant professional body (or working towards).
