Associate Planner – West Midlands
Salary: £45,000–£60,000 + benefits + bonus

We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected consultancy in the West Midlands that’s looking to appoint an ambitious Associate Planner to strengthen its growing planning team. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned planner ready to step into a more influential role with genuine autonomy and career progression.
The Role:
As the Associate Planner, you’ll play a key part in leading projects, managing client relationships, and guiding junior team members. You’ll be involved in a diverse mix of residential, commercial, strategic land, and regeneration schemes across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and coordinating complex planning applications and appeals
- Delivering strategic planning advice to clients across multiple sectors
- Managing project teams and mentoring junior planners
- Preparing and presenting high-quality reports, statements, and evidence
- Supporting business development and helping to grow the regional client base
What We’re Looking For:
- MRTPI chartered with several years’ experience in consultancy or local authority
- Proven track record delivering major or complex applications
- Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build lasting relationships
- Confident, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple projects independently
- Excellent knowledge of national and local planning policy
