Graduate Town Planner
Location: Chelmsford

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing property and planning consultancy in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their Chelmsford team. The Role
As a Graduate Town Planner, you will support the planning team across the full project lifecycle. You will assist with research, site assessments, planning applications, and policy monitoring, gaining the essential skills and experience needed to progress confidently through your early career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals

  • Undertaking site appraisals, planning research, and policy analysis

  • Preparing planning statements, supporting documents, and reports

  • Monitoring local plans, consultations, and changes to planning policy

  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and consultants as required

  • Supporting senior planners with project delivery and client work

About You
We’re looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and well-organised Graduate Town Planner eager to learn and develop.

Requirements:

  • RTPI accredited degree or master’s in Town Planning (or related field)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Good research, analytical, and organisational abilities

  • Ability to work proactively and manage multiple tasks

  • A positive, motivated attitude with a desire to grow professionally

  • Full UK driving licence beneficial but not essential
