The Role
As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering planning applications, appraisals, and strategic advice for a diverse client base. You will work across a broad range of development types, gaining exposure to both private and public sector work while developing your technical and client facing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals

  • Drafting planning statements, appraisals, and supporting documents

  • Undertaking site visits, feasibility reviews, and policy research

  • Liaising with clients, local authorities, and external consultants

  • Supporting senior planners on complex and high value projects

  • Contributing to design, strategy, and project coordination

  • Assisting with consultation activities and stakeholder engagement

About You
The ideal Town Planner will be proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to contribute to a fast paced consultancy environment. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solution-focused mindset are essential.

Requirements:

  • RTPI accredited degree or master’s in Planning or a related field

  • MRTPI status or working towards chartership

  • Relevant experience in planning (consultancy experience advantageous)

  • Solid understanding of UK planning policy and the development process

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage workload, deadlines, and multiple projects
