Associate Director / Director – Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £55k - £75k DOE

We’re working with a well-established multi-disciplinary planning consultancy in Edinburgh that’s looking for an Associate Director / Director to join their team.
The Role:
As an Associate / Director, you’ll take a leading role in managing planning applications and coordinating projects from inception to completion. You’ll work closely with the Regional Director and Associate Directors to strengthen the team’s core capabilities while continuing to develop your own technical expertise and mentoring skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a variety of planning applications, appeals, and development projects from inception to delivery.
- Provide clear, expert planning advice to clients and coordinate with local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare high-quality planning documents, including statements, policy representations, and supporting materials.
- Contribute to business development through client engagement, networking, and preparation of proposals.
- Mentor junior colleagues and support the continued growth and success of the wider planning team.
Qualifications:
- MRTPI
- Urban Planning, Land Use Planning, and Environmental Planning expertise
- Experience in project management and client engagement/business development
- Research and Analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in planning software and tools
- Strong knowledge of planning regulations and policies in Scotland / UK
- Degree in Urban Planning
