£65-£67/hour (umbrella) - Hybrid (2 days in-office per week) - 6-month contract
A progressive Essex Local Authority is seeking an experienced Planning Development Management Manager to lead their Development Management service during a period of significant regeneration and growth.
What You’ll Do

Lead a team of Principal, Senior and Planning Officers

Oversee Development Management, Planning Enforcement, and admin support

Manage complex applications and support committee processes

Represent the council with stakeholders and partners

Drive service improvements and mentor officers
What You’ll Bring

Strong local authority leadership experience

Knowledge of UK planning legislation and DM procedures

Skilled in handling complex and major applications

Excellent stakeholder engagement

MRTPI preferred
