Principal Planning Policy Officer - East of England
£60/hr (umbrella) - Hybrid working - 3-month contract (likely to extend)
A Local Authority in the East of England is looking for an experienced Principal Planning Policy Officer to support its Local Plan (Regulation 19) stage.
The Role
You’ll lead on drafting and reviewing Local Plan policies, preparing evidence, and guiding the plan toward examination. Expect plenty of stakeholder engagement, cross-service collaboration, and mentoring of junior officers.
What You’ll Need
- Strong Local Plan experience (ideally Regulation 19)
- Excellent policy writing and technical skills
- Confident working independently and managing complex workloads
- Strong stakeholder and cross-team communication
- MRTPI (or eligibility) preferred
