Job Title: Town Planner
Location: Telford (Hybrid)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Excellent Benefits
We’re seeking a talented and commercially minded Town Planner to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Telford. Renowned for delivering innovative, commercially focused solutions across the UK, the company integrates expertise in planning, architecture, landscape, ecology, and design — helping clients create thriving, sustainable places.
The Role
This is a full-time position offering a hybrid working model (3 days in the Telford office and 2 days remote). You’ll collaborate directly with clients, consultants, and in-house teams to deliver expert planning advice, prepare applications, and shape development strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support on planning applications, appraisals, pre-apps, and development strategies.
- Prepare and submit planning statements, reports, and design & access statements.
- Provide clients with expert advice on national and local planning policy and its implications.
- Work closely with internal teams in design, architecture, and landscape to deliver integrated solutions.
- Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders throughout the planning process.
- Assist with planning appeals and public consultations as required.
Requirements:
- Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- MRTPI qualification (or working towards).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a consultancy, local authority, or developer setting.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the English planning system and policy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and solution-oriented approach.
