Are you a driven Senior Planner ready to progress, or an Associate Planner seeking a new challenge with a top-tier consultancy?
We’re working with a well-established multi-disciplinary planning consultancy in London that’s looking for an Associate Planner to join their team.
The Role:
As an Associate, you’ll take a leading role in managing planning applications and coordinating projects from inception to completion. You’ll work closely with the Regional Director and Associate Directors to strengthen the team’s core capabilities while continuing to develop your own technical expertise and mentoring skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a variety of planning applications, appeals, and development projects from inception to delivery.
- Provide clear, expert planning advice to clients and coordinate with local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare high-quality planning documents, including statements, policy representations, and supporting materials.
- Contribute to business development through client engagement, networking, and preparation of proposals.
- Mentor junior colleagues and support the continued growth and success of the wider planning team.
Ideally the successful candidate will:
- Hold an RTPI-accredited degree or a master’s qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Be a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or actively working towards accreditation.
- Have minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience within the planning sector, ideally gained in consultancy or local authority.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in client liaison and stakeholder engagement.
- Have strong project management, report writing, and negotiation skills, with a solid understanding of UK planning policy and processes.
