I am partnering with a well-respected multi-service development consultancy in Leeds who are looking for an experienced Senior or Principal Planner to join their team.
This role offers an outstanding opportunity for someone who values the variety and independence of consultancy work, engaging across diverse sectors such as residential, commercial, mixed-use, and strategic land.
About the Role:
You’ll play an integral role in every stage of the planning process — from early site assessments and promotions to preparing submissions and managing appeals. This position offers the opportunity to lead on a variety of projects, work directly with clients, and guide junior colleagues within a supportive, close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a range of complex planning applications and appeals.
- Delivering professional planning advice to clients, landowners, and developers.
- Preparing planning statements, policy responses, and technical documentation.
- Representing clients at planning committees, hearings, and public consultations.
- Contributing to business development and mentoring less experienced team members.
About You:
- MRTPI qualified (or progressing toward submission).
- Previous experience in a planning consultancy or local authority environment.
- Sound understanding of UK planning policy and development management practices.
- Strong communicator with proven report-writing and presentation skills.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and dedicated to producing high-quality work.
