If so, we have an exceptional opportunity with a leading independent consultancy that’s making waves in the world of transport planning.

The Opportunity

We’re working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected transport planning consultancy to find a motivated Assistant Transport Planner to join their growing team. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from major urban developments to local infrastructure schemes, across both the public and private sectors.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and other technical documents

  • Undertaking data analysis, including traffic flow assessments and junction capacity modelling

  • Assisting with site visits, transport surveys, and liaison with local authorities

  • Contributing to design and access strategies for new developments

  • Using industry-standard software such as Arcady, Picady, LinSig, and AutoCAD (training provided where necessary)

  • Engaging with multidisciplinary teams including planners, architects, and engineers

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline

  • A genuine interest in transport, development, and sustainable mobility

  • Some experience (through university projects, placement, or employment) in transport planning or modelling is desirable but not essential

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of modelling software is a bonus

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a desire to learn and grow in the field

What’s on Offer

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment

  • Clear career progression pathways and mentoring

  • Involvement in projects from day one – no sitting on the sidelines

  • Flexible working options and a healthy work-life balance

  • Competitive salary, pension, and a range of employee benefits

  • A culture that values innovation, autonomy, and personal development
