Principal Planning Officer – Major Developments (Contract)
- Hybrid | 2 days in office (Essex), remainder remote
- 6-month initial contract | Potential extension up to 2 years
- £50–£58 per hour (DOE)

My client is seeking a Principal Planning Officer to lead on Planning Performance Agreement (PPA) major schemes, including residential developments of up to 1,000 units.
Key Duties:
- Manage complex major applications under PPAs
- Lead pre-app discussions and stakeholder negotiations
- Prepare reports and present at committee
- Ensure compliance with planning policy and legislation
Requirements:
- Strong experience in major planning applications
- In-depth knowledge of UK planning law and procedures
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- RTPI membership desirable
