Our client is a Local Authority based in the East Midlands and they are looking for a Business Start Up Advisor to join them for a contract which will run until March 2026.
The core objective of this role is to work with residents and existing micro and SME businesses where appropriate, offering a high-quality business advice and support service to generate business pre-starts and new business start-ups as part of the Vision Programme.
Your key focus' will be as follows:
* Offering a high quality business advice and support service to generate business pre-starts and new business start ups
* Support the development and management of a comprehensive and joined up investor development service to ensure businesses locate
* Deliver a core offer across the agreed geographical area which encompasses business start up advice, grants, networking events and access to specialist advice. They will also signpost into the wider offer, including local initiatives (eg. mentoring programmes, enterprise space) and regional/national business support programmes
To apply for this role you will need experience of working for a local authority on account management and the delivery of high-quality business start-up advice or assessment to clients. You will have a strong understanding and knowledge of the Economic Development Agenda particularly in respect of business engagement and support. To be considered for this role you must have demonstrable and tangible experience in successfully establishing action plans for business start-up and growth and their implementation. Experience of negotiation and offering a credible, confident, and persuasive approach to business start-up and growth advice. Experience of delivering funded projects and related monitoring and reporting requirements, and experience of working with key partners and stakeholders across all sectors to support, promote and develop economic development and business start-up support
The role is inside IR35 and the rate offered will be based on Market rates. Our client offers hybrid working arrangements.
